Fine art photographer, graphic designer and website creator

My fascination with photography began in the 1960’s after I received my first camera—a Kodak Instamatic 104 with “flashcube” attachment. The timing of this gift was opportune, as my aunt and uncle had just presented the family with a beautiful baby girl. I took as many photos of my adorable cousin as I could afford until she became totally averse to the camera flash (can you blame her?). She has refused to pose from that time to this day.

My photography hobby mostly lapsed until I purchased a new Canon 50D DSLR in 2013 from my cousin whose husband had abandoned it in preference for his old film camera. It was quite a steal and resulted in my total obsession with digital cameras. How could anyone resist the ability to snap endless shots with the only resulting expense to owner being megabytes and processing time?

I love to explore different photographic genre. I am known for my subtly textured nature artwork created from a blend of photographic images and digital brush work. I am currently using my Canon 5D Mark IV capturing plants, birds and landscapes. Recently I have been exploring abstract surrealism in my compositions.

I participate in the Chicago Botanic Garden’s Focus on Photography Certificate Program where I earned a fine art certificate of merit. I am also a member of the Chicago Photographic Arts Society. Membership in these creative communities brings new perspectives to my work.
